FEBRUARY NEWSLETTERFOXWOODS BUS TRIPThe Church of the Resurrection will be
holding a bus trip to Foxwoods Resort and Casino on Sunday, March 11, 2018. The
bus will leave the church parking lot at 12:00 pm and return by 8:00 pm. The
cost of the trip is $30.00 per person which includes bus transportation, a free
buffet at the Festival Buffet (or a $10.00 food voucher for another restaurant
excluding David Burke Prime), and a $10.00 bonus slot play.To reserve a seat,
please call the rectory at (203) 265-1694.Space is limited so please call and
reserve a spot soon.MASS OF ENROLLMENT FOR FIRST COMMUNIONThe Mass of Enrollment
for our First Communion Class will be held on Sunday, February 11th at the 9:00
Mass. During the Mass our second-graders will present Fr. Georgia a decorated
heart with their picture on it. The hearts will be displayed in the vestibule
for all to see. Please pray for our First Communion class as they prepare to
receive Jesus sacramentally in May.ASH WEDNESDAYAsh Wednesday is February 14th.
There will be a Mass held at 7:00am. Distribution of Ashes will also take place
at 12:10, 3:30 & 5:30.​TOWN-WIDE STATIONS OF THE CROSSDuring the season on
Lent on Friday evenings the Stations of the Cross will be offered at our 4
Wallingford Catholic Churches. The schedule is below.Friday, Feb. 16 – Most Holy
Trinity – 7:00pmFriday, Feb. 23 – Church of the Resurrection – 7:00pmFriday,
March 2 – Saints Peter and Paul – 7:00pmFriday, March 9 – Most Holy Trinity –
7:00pmFriday, March 16 – Our Lady of Fatima – 7:00pmFriday, March 23 – LIVING
STATIONS OF THE CROSS – Resurrection – 7:30pmLIVING STATIONS OF THE CROSSThe
Living Stations of the Cross will take place on Friday, March 23rd at 7:30pm.
Please keep an eye on the bulletin and future emails for more information. Help
will be needed.ANNUAL PARISH CARNIVALOur carnival will be held Wednesday, April
25th through Saturday, April 28th.Please mark your calendars now as we will need
your help, even if only for a few hours.Our committees of dedicated booth
captains have already begun planning for this year’s event. We could use a few
more booth captains to add some additional fun to the event.​If you are
interested please contact Paul at (203) 694-2784 or PJBanks@snet.net.There is
usually one meeting to attend (sometime in March) however, you will have the
responsibility for your booth set up and breakdown during the week. New Ideas
are always welcome!! If you have an idea for our carnival and are willing to
help execute it, we would love to hear from you. Please contact Paul right away
to discuss.SOCIAL ACTION COMMITTEEThe Social Action Committee will hold a
planning meeting on Tuesday, February 20th at 6:00pm in the rectory. All
interested in helping with our Easter Food Distribution are welcome to
attend.MEN’S LEAGUEThe monthly meeting of the Men’s League will take place on
Tuesday, February 6th at 6:30pm. All men of the parish are invited to attend.
Dinner and drinks will be provided.PARISH CHOIR The choir is beginning to
prepare for Holy Week and Easter. New members are always invited to join us. All
voices are welcome, but we are especially in need of soprano singers. If you can
help us out or would like more information, please contact Joe.

Liturgy of the Word and choir continues to be held at the 9:00 Mass each Sunday.
All children are welcome!EUCHARISTIC ADORATIONOur monthly Eucharistic Adoration
will take place on Saturday, February 3rd from 8:30am until 4:30pm. All are
invited to spend some time with our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament.​​CAPITAL
CAMPAIGN UPDATEWE HAVE GONE OVER OUR INITIAL CONSTRUCTION GOAL of $1.8 million
dollars!!!!To be exact we have pledges totaling $1,845,378.02Cash in hand –
$910,378.02Thank you to all who have made this possible. Your generosity is
greatly appreciated!Our total campaign goal is $2,050,000. Additional pledges
are most welcome at any time.
