CHURCH PICNIC

All are invited to our parish family picnic which will be held on Sunday, September 15th from 11:30 – 2:00. There is no cost, but so we can plan accordingly, please sign-up if you plan on attending. Forms are located on the bulletin tables in church or you may respond to this email. The picnic will take place on the church grounds. Hope to see you there!

ALIVE IN CHRIST – FAITH FORMATION

 Faith Formation classes will begin very soon. Grades 1 – 6 will begin on Monday, September 16th and grades 7 & 8 will begin on Sunday, September 22nd.

 Schedules and registration forms have been mailed out. 

If you have not returned your registration form, please do so as soon as possible. 

Please call the rectory (203) 265-1694 with any questions.

CONFIRMATION PROGRAM – Grade 9

Students enrolled in the Confirmation Program will meet for their first session on Sunday, September 8th beginning with the 5:00 Mass, followed by dinner and discussion. The evening will be over at 7:30. The first service project will be helping out at the Parish Picnic on Sunday, September 15th. Please call the rectory with any questions. (203) 265-1694

CONFIRMATION CEREMONY – Grade 10

The Sacrament of Confirmation will be administered on Sunday, September 29th at 2:00pm by Bishop Juan Miguel Betancourt. Tenth graders should have received information which was both emailed and mailed out. Please return the form as soon as possible. Rehearsals will be held on Tuesday evening, September 24th, from 6:30 – 7:30 (students only) and Friday, September 27th at 6:30pm (students and sponsors). Please call the rectory with any questions.

MEN’S LEAGUE

The first Men’s League meeting for the year will be held on Tuesday, September 3rd at 6:30pm. Help will be needed setting up tents and cooking for our parish picnic. All men are welcome!

HEALTH AND WELLNESS COMMITTEE – Blood Pressure Screening

The Health and Wellness Committee will be holdings its quarterly blood pressure screening on Sunday morning, September 8th after Mass. The screening will take place in the upper conference room off the vestibule. 

MUSIC MINISTRY – Parish Choir

Our parish choir will be starting a new season on Thursday, September 19th. Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings from 7:00 – 8:30. The choir sings on Sunday mornings at the 10:30 Mass from October through May. New voices are always welcome. If you are interested or have any questions, please call Joe at the rectory or email him at josephtatta@yahoo.com.

Bell Choir

The parish Bell Choir is looking to recruit a few more members. Having a musical background, especially reading rhythms is required. Contact Joe if you are interested or have any questions. The Bell Choir rehearses on Monday evenings from 7:00 – 8:00. The choir plays at Mass once a month October – May.

CHILDREN’S LITURGY OF THE WORD AND CHOIR

The Children’s Liturgy of the Word and Choir will resume on Sunday, October 6th at the 9:00 Mass. All children are welcome to participate. No need to sign up. Children will be invited, at the beginning of Mass, to go downstairs and participate in an age-appropriate Liturgy of the Word. The Scriptures will be proclaimed and discussed in a manner that children understand. The children will also learn a few songs in which they will sing at Mass. 

HELP WANTED – NEW LECTORS

We are looking to recruit a few more people to become lectors (readers) at Mass. If you are interested or have any questions, please see Msgr. Georgia or Joe. 

WALLINGFORD’S 350 JUBILEE

On June 20, 2020, as part of the Town of Wallingford’s 350 Jubilee, there will be a town-wide parade. Our church has been asked to put together a float for the parade. We are looking to form a committee to discuss how to move forward. If you are interested in helping out or have any ideas, please call the rectory. We will meet in late-September. Meeting date TBD.

Food Pantry Need Restocking

Dear Parishioners,

As you may know, the Social Action Committee of our parish continues to provide food year-round to over 40 families. After the last week’s food pick-up there are several items we are very low on. Your help would be greatly appreciated. A list is provided below. As always, THANK YOU, for you constant support and generosity. It is most appreciated.
