NEWSLETTER

Dear Parents,

Just a friendly reminder that in honor of Veteran’s Day, there will be no Alive in Christ Religious Education classes Monday, November 12th.

Going forward we ask that parents of grades 1 through 3 pick up their children in the vestibule of the church. Now that it is dark outside after class, it will be much safer to dismiss from inside. Students in Mrs. Tiedemann’s first grade class, which meets in the rectory, should picked up at the rectory door.

Thank you for your cooperation.

A few things of interest…..

Each Sunday at the 9:00 Mass there is a special Liturgy of the Word for Children. This is held in the church meeting room. Not only will the children listen to the Scripture readings of the day in an age-appropriate manner, they will also learn a few songs which they will sing at Mass. This is a wonderful opportunity for the children to get involved in the liturgy each Sunday. No need to sign up, just come to the 9:00 Mass. All are welcome to participate. As you know, Mass attendance is a very important part of your child’s Faith Formation.

Throughout the month of November, we encourage you to stop by the Memorial Table in the vestibule. Many of the children have brought in a picture of a loved one who has passed away. The display is priceless. Additional pictures can be added at any point. If you would like the picture back, please put your child’s name on the back of the picture. Thank you to Mrs. Perkin’s class and to Mrs. Berrios for organizing this project. The month of November is traditionally the time when we remember all those who have passed on from this life to the next.

Thank you to all who have brought in canned goods for the Social Ministry’s Thanksgiving Food Baskets. The response has been overwhelming. A special thank you to Mrs. Tatta and Mrs. Benham’s class for your donation of pumpkin pies and to Mrs. Nixon’s class for adopting a family for Christmas.

On behalf of all the teachers, we thank you for your commitment in bringing your children to Religious Education each week. It is a great pleasure and honor to be able to pass on our faith to all the young people of our parish family.

If there is ever anything we can door you, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Have a great week!

Dear Parishioner,

Due to your continuous generosity, we will be able to provide a Thanksgiving Food Basket to 50 families this year. This is no small accomplishment and could not have been without your help.

Although we are generally in good shape with food, we could use a few more items. We are still in need of Cranberry Sauce, Grape Jelly, Apple Sauce, canned yams and maple syrup.

Baskets will be put together next week. If you are able to help purchase some of the items above, please bring them to church this weekend.

Again, thank you, for all you do for the Social Ministry and our parish family.
