November Newsletter

MEN’S LEAGUE THANKSGIVING PIE SALEThe Men’s League annual Pie Sale is currently
taking place. Orders may be placed after Masses through November 14th. Forms are
located on the bulletin tables.New this year….. For those who don’t want a pie
for themselves, but would still like to make a donation, you can purchase a pie
for one of our families in need. The pie will be included in their Thanksgiving
Food Basket.MUSIC MINISTRY’S CHRISTMAS FLOWER SALEThe Music Ministry will once
again hold a Christmas Flower sale. The monies raised will support the work of
all the choirs. Order forms can be found on the tables in the vestibule of the
church or you can download one by clicking here. Items for sale are poinsettia
plants, door wreaths, cemetery pillows, and cemetery log boxes and pots. As
always, your support is most appreciated.BOX OF JOY PROGRAMOur Confirmation
Class, in conjunction with the Knights of Columbus, is participating in the Box
of Joy Outreach Program. This program is designed to collect items for children
who are less fortunate. Boxes will be assembled and sent to families so their
children can have a wonderful Christmas morning. We are asking for help in
collecting items. The list below is what is needed. Items can be brought to

LITURGY OF THE WORDThe Children’s Liturgy of the Word takes place each Sunday at
the 9:00 Mass. We encourage you to bring your children so they can participate.
The children are taken downstairs at the beginning of Mass and listen to the
Scripture Readings in an age-appropriate manner. They will also participate in
activities and learn music. All children are invited.THANKSGIVING DAY
MASS​​Mass on Thanksgiving morning will be held at 9:00am. All are invited
to join us as we give thanks to God for all the blessings he has given to us.
There will be a special “Blessing of Bread” during the Mass. You are invited to
bring bread or a food item that will be served at your Thanksgiving Dinner. The
food will be blessed during the Mass.SUNDAY 5:00pm MASSOn the first Sunday of
October we once again began the 5:00pm Sunday Mass. This was on a trial basis.
Unfortunately, the attendance has been very low. At this time we are going to
suspend the Mass. Perhaps we can revisit this at another time or at a later
date. Our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause. Our Saturday night
5:00 Mass will continue as well as the 7:30, 9:00 and 10:30 Sunday Masses.

Thanksgiving Food Baskets

Dear Parishioners,Each year, as Thanksgiving Day draws near, our Social Action
Ministry provides a Thanksgiving Dinner for families in our area who are in
need. This year we are planning on serving over 40 families. Parishioners and
friends of our parish have been most generous throughout the years in helping us
collect the food that is needed. Once again, we are asking for your help. We are
in need of the items below. ​jellycanned gravytomato sauce cranberry
saucecanned veggies (corn, peas, carrots, green beans, etc.)canned

much appreciated. Donations can be dropped off in the church vestibule. ​Thank

Drive Through Flu Clinic

THIS SATURDAY….. Drive Through Flu Clinic​No appointment necessary – we will
once again be having a drive through flu clinic with Franciscan Home Care and
Hospice Care on Saturday, October 16 from 1 – 5 pm in the church parking lot (by
the garage like last year). Regular and high dose (for those over 65) will be
available. (Unfortunately we are unable to give the shot to children under

Most insurances accepted & are listed on the permission form (Cigna &
Care Partners are not participating).If you do not have insurance, but would

October Newsletter

Faith Formation InformationFaith Formation Classes have begun.Grades 1 & 2
meet on Monday evenings from 4:45 – 5:45Grades 3 & 4 meet on Tuesday
evenings from 4:45 – 5:45Grades 5 & 6 meet on Monday evenings from 6:00 –
7:00Grades 7 & 8 will meet on Sunday, October 3rd from 6:00pm – 7:00pm​The
next Confirmation activity will be held Monday & Tuesday, October 25 &
26. This will be the Trunk – or – Treat activity,​FIRST QUARTER HOMESCHOOL
ASSIGNMENTS DUE NOVEMBER 7th. ​BLESSING OF PETSOur annual Blessing of Pets
will be held Saturday, October 2nd at 10:00am in front of the church.Sunday 5:00
Mass to Return in OctoberBeginning Sunday, October 3rd the 5:00 Mass will resume
on a trial basis. After a few weeks, if attendance warrants it, a decision will
be made whether of not to keep the Mass on a permanent basis. MUSIC MINISTRY
CALLING ALL SINGERSOn Thursday, September 23rd our parish choir began a new
season. The choir is in need of all voices but especially soprano voices.
Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings from 7:00 – 8:30. The choir provides
music each Sunday at the 10:30 Mass from October – through May.If you are
interested in joining or would like more information, please see Joe after Mass
or email him at josephtatta@yahoo.comHealth and Wellness Committee​There will
also be a Blood Pressure Screening on Saturday, October 9th before and after the
5:00 Mass. A private space will be provided for your blood pressure check. You

​​KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS​The Knight of Columbus is an international Order if
Catholic men who are called to lead with faith, protect our families, serve
others and defend values in a busy changing world. Our local council Pinta # 5
will be holding a membership drive at Saturday 5PM and Sunday 7:30 AM, 9:00
& 10:30 October 23/24. Whether you become an individual member or a member
of our council you will find that Knights of Columbus membership brings Catholic
men together in a powerful way. If you would like to join today simply go to

free! Also don’t forget to enter council # 5 too.

September Newsletter

Parish PicnicOur Parish Family Picnic will be held on Sunday, September 19th
from 11:30 – 2:00. All are invited. If you plan on coming, please fill out a
picnic form and return it this weekend. Forms are located on the bulletin tables
in church or you can click here for a form. We hope you can join us.​Faith
Formation InformationFaith Formation Classes will begin mid-September. Schedules
have been mailed out to all returning families. All new families that have
registered a child(ren) should also have received a schedule of classes. Please

more information. The Sacrament of ConfirmationThe Sacrament of Confirmation for
our 10th graders will take place on Saturday, September 11th at 11:00am at the
Cathedral of Saint Joseph in Hartford. Archbishop Leonard Blair will administer
the Sacrament. All Confirmation Candidates should arrive at the cathedral by
10:30am.Sunday 5:00 Mass to Return in OctoberBeginning Sunday, October 3rd the
