Music Ministry

Music has always had an important role in the Church and her celebrations. Through sung or played music, our choirs proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and enhance the liturgies so others can be uplifted and unite themselves with God.

The Music Ministry of the Church of the Resurrection is open to anyone who wishes to give back to God the talents He, first, has given to them. Please contact us for more information.

Adult Choir

The Adult Choir is made up of adults and high school-aged young adults who come together as friends to praise God through song. The repertoire spans from classical music to modern music. The choir provides music for the 10:30 Mass on Sunday mornings during the months of October – May. The choir also sings at other special liturgical celebrations throughout the year such as Confirmation, Christmas, Holy Week, and Easter. The Adult Choir rehearses weekly on Thursday evenings from 7:00 – 9:00. (October – May)

Children’s Choir

The CHILDREN’S CHOIR is made up of singers in K-5th grade. The Children’s Choir sings at the 9:00 Mass on Sundays (October – mid May). The children are taught the songs during the Children’s Liturgy of the Word.

Handbell Choir

The Handbell Choir is made up of adults and young adults alike. This choir provides music at the 10:30 Mass once a month during the months of October – May. The Bell Choir offers a wonderful opportunity for those who do not like to sing but would like to participate in the church’s Music Ministry Program. It is helpful for new members to have a general understanding of music notation and rhythms.

Rehearsals are held on Monday evenings from 7:00 – 8:15. (late September – May)

Instrumental Ensemble

The Instrumental Ensemble is a group of individuals who play  instruments such as flutes, oboes, trumpets, trombones, Euphoniums, and French horns. The Ensemble provides music at many of the special liturgies such as Christmas and Easter.
