Merry Christmas

If you recall your most treasured Christmas memories, almost certainly they
involve the joy of being with the ones you love. Some treasured Christmases may
have occurred during difficult years. But the memories of joy, hope and laughter
are etched in your memory and somehow you know God was with you.2020 has been a
year of surprises. For some it has been shocking while for others it has been
very painful. From the global pandemic through racial and political crises and
more, can there be any doubt that we need God more now than ever
before?Christmas reminds us that Jesus is “Emmanuel, God with us.” 2020 has
been a year of surprises. But, remember, God gave us the biggest surprise of all
in the gift of his only Son. Yes, we are indeed a rich, blessed people embraced
by God with his unconditional love. He is our source of joy and hope.I would
like to thank all of you who have done so much, given so much, and sacrificed so
much to help our parish and those in need in these critical times. Through our
Christmas Giving Tree you have brightened the hearts and lives of so many. Your
support of our on-going Food Program is truly heartwarming. Even in the face of
Covid, your support of our parish has been unwavering. This, coupled with all
you do, proclaims that Christ is alive. He lives in each of us. This is the true
spirit of Christmas.I will remember all of you in my Christmas Masses. I,
together with Fr. MacDonald, Deacon John, Joe Tatta and our entire parish staff
wish you a blessed and joyous Christmas!!!Monsignor John GeorgiaCHRISTMAS MASS

Drive-through Holy Communion

RECEPTION OF HOLY COMMUNIONCHRISTMAS EVEFor those who do not feel comfortable
attending Mass on Christmas because of the COVID-19 pandemic, you may receive
Holy Communion on Christmas Eve from 11:00am – 12:00pm in the church parking
lot. We ask that you stay in your car and a Eucharistic Minister will come to
your car window. Communion must be received in the hand not on the tongue.
Eucharistic Ministers will be wearing masks and will sanitize their hands as
needed. We understand that many of you have not been able to attend Mass and
receive Communion because of the health risks related to the pandemic.
Hopefully, this will give you an opportunity to receive Communion. In the case
of inclement weather, Communion will be distributed inside the church.
Confessions will also be heard from 11:00 – 12:00 in the reconciliation rooms.

Alive In Christ Update

IMPORTANT INFORMATIONDear Parents of our Alive In Christ Program,A
decision has been made to continue home-schooling Faith Formation students
throughout the remainder of this school year with the exception of grades 2
& 9. In grade 2 the children receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and
Communion and in grade 9 the Sacrament of Confirmation. Because these are
sacramental years for these two grades, it is very important that they attend
in-person classes so they can be properly prepared. More information will be
sent out soon regarding schedules and proper protocols for in-person
learning. All other grades (1,3,4,5,6,7 & 8) should complete their textbooks
(end of chapter/unit reviews) and hand in their books by the first Sunday of
May. We know this is not ideal, but for the safety of both students and teachers
we cannot bring everyone back with the space limitations that we have at the
church. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. The
door is always open, I look forward to hearing from you. Let’s hope and pray
that we can get back to some sense of normalcy next school-year. On behalf of
Monsignor Georgia and all of us here at the Church of the Resurrection, I hope
you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Joe
